A mortgage can feel like something you’re supposed to understand before you even start. Credit. Down payments. Documents. Rates. What you qualify for. What you should qualify for.
That’s backwards.
My job is to understand where you are, what you’re trying to accomplish, and then help you make sense of what comes next. No mortgage-speak for the sake of sounding smart. No pressure to make a decision before you’re ready. And no pretending I have an answer when I don’t.
If something gets complicated, we’ll deal with it. If there’s something you need to know, I’ll tell you. And if you have a question you think you should already know the answer to, ask it anyway.
You don’t need to have everything figured out before we talk. That’s kind of the point.

These are the same questions I’d ask you on the phone. Answer them here and my first email to you is already useful instead of introductory.
Everyone is different, but almost everyone starts in one of these places. Find yours and I’ll tell you what to expect.

For 25 years, I worked in media as a news anchor, host, MC, and producer, and I’ve also been an entrepreneur who owned businesses of my own. It’s an unusual road to mortgage lending, but it taught me things that translate surprisingly well. Live television teaches you to think on your feet, ask the right question, and take complicated information and make it understandable to a real person. Owning businesses teaches you differently when you’re the one responsible for the result. That’s still how I’m wired.
Before I start talking about a loan, I want to understand the whole picture. What are you actually trying to accomplish? What might matter a few years from now? Where are the tradeoffs? Is there something we haven’t considered yet? That’s the part of this job I actually enjoy. We’ll talk about loans, numbers, and options, and those matter, but they’re pieces of a bigger decision, not the decision itself. My job is to help you cut through what doesn’t matter and make a smart decision about what does.
I’ve had an unconventional career. I’m probably never going to sound like the stereotypical mortgage guy, and I’m good with that. Because your mortgage isn’t the goal. It’s one piece of whatever you’re trying to do next.

Pre-approvals that hold up under a competitive offer, weekly status on every file, and a straight answer when a deal isn’t going to work. I’d rather protect your reputation than force a close.
A quick call with me is the easiest first step. No pressure, no credit check.
